Fortnite's ever-popular Battle Royale mode continues to remain fresh by making constant changes to the island that makes up the map. In Patch v10.40, players can drop out of the Battle Bus to a new landing location: Starry Suburbs.

Fortnite players who frequent Pleasant Park may recognize Starry Suburbs as the adjacent ruined neighborhood, restored to prime condition in Patch v10.40. Gentrification isn't the whole thing Starry Suburbs boasts, however. The area gets its name for the consistent occurence of shooting stars landing in the streets of Starry Suburbs; each star full of loot for players to fight over and secure.

Epic Games' "never before seen" weapon

Epic Games boasted that Starry Suburbs would feature a weapon that has yet to be seen in the Fortnite universe. However, the usage of 'never before seen' may have been a bit of an oversell for a gold variant of the Tactical SMG. Epic Games brought the Tactical SMG back to Fortnite in Patch v10.30 a few weeks ago, which was met with a majority of positive reception from the community. However, this is the first time that a Legendary variant of the weapon has hit the Battle Royale map.

Since its re-introduction, the Tactical SMG can be found all over the map, boasting uncommon, rare, and epic variants. However, the Legendary Tactical SMG can only be found in Starry Suburbs. Players looking to get their hands on the new gold submachine gun better be ready to rumble — with a new weapon variant and loot-filled shooting stars, Starry Suburbs will be an even hotter landing zone than what the Fortnite community has come to expect from new map additions

The full Fortnite Patch v10.40 patch notes were released by Epic Games shortly after the downtime for the new patch to go live, and can be found here
