These are the groups for the 2019 League of Legends World Championship

The groups for the League of Legends World Championship 2019 have been decided. Today, in a group draw show, all 24 qualified teams got to know which opponents they'll be facing in the clash for the Summoner's Cup.

 

Play-In Stage groups

From October 2nd to October 8th, the Play-Ins will take place. It's where twelve teams will fight for a coveted ticket to the next stage. Eight teams will be sent home early, and only four teams make it to the main event's group stage. For the Play-In Stage, the third seeds of the LCK, LEC, LCS and LMS each were assigned as head of a group, after which the other teams were drawn:

 

Play-In Group A

  • Clutch Gaming, third seed of the LCS
  • Unicorns of Love, first seed of the LCL
  • MAMMOTH, first seed of the OPL

 

Play-In Group B

  • Splyce, third seed of the LEC
  • Isirus Gaming, first seed of the LLA
  • DetonatioN FocusMe, first seed of the LJL

 

Play-In Group C

  • Hong Kong Attitude, third seed of the LMS
  • Lowkey Esports, second seed of the VCS
  • MEGA, first seed of the LST

 

Play-In Group D

  • DAMWON Gaming, third seed of the LCK
  • Royal Youth, first seed of the TCL
  • Flamengo eSports, first seed of the CBLOL

 

Main event group stage

The other twelve teams have already qualified for the main event's group stage, which will start on October 12th and conclude on the 20th. SK Telecom T1 (LCK), Team Liquid (LCS), G2 (LEC) and FunPlus Phoenix (LPL) managed to become the first seed of their respective region, making them head of a main event group. The group draw then decided which of the remaining eight teams would join them, with the following result:

 

Group A

  • G2, first seed of the LEC
  • Griffin, second seed of the LCK
  • Cloud9, second seed of the LCS

 

Group B

  • FunPlus Phoenix, first seed of the LPL
  • J Team, first seed of the LMS
  • GAM Esports, first seed of the VCS

 

Group C

  • SK Telecom T1, first seed of the LCK
  • Fnatic, second seed of the LEC
  • Royal Never Give Up, second seed of the LPL

 

Group D

  • Team Liquid, first seed of the LCS
  • ahq e-Sports Club, second seed of the LMS
  • Invictus Gaming, third seed of the LPL
