Luxury fashion brand Louis Vuitton will be partnering with Riot Games for the 2019 League of Legends World Championship. Louis Vuitton is designing a custom case for the Summoner's Cup, which is the trophy awarded to the League of Legends World Champion.

This is the first time the Summoner's Cup has had any type of custom accessory, let alone one created by a partner. This is also the first time Louis Vuitton, or any type of fashion brand for that matter, has entered into any type of esports partnership. In a now-deleted announcement on the official Louis Vuitton website, the world-class designer had this to say about its upcoming venture into LoL Esports:

"For the Championship Finals in Paris on November 10th, 2019, Louis Vuitton is creating, in collaboration with Riot, an unprecedented, one-of-a-kind Trophy Travel Case to hold the Summoner's Cup, the trophy awarded to the world champions and considered the most prestigious prize in esports.

The bespoke trunk, the first of its kind for an esports championship, will feature both traditional Louis Vuitton savoir-faire along with cutting-edge, high-tech elements inspired by the League of Legends universe.

In addition to the Trophy Case, Louis Vuitton has designed unique champion skins and a capsule collection designed by Nicolas Ghesquière, Louis Vuittion's Artistic Director of Women's collections, along with other League of
Legend[sic] digital assets."

League of Legends possesses the largest global presence of any esport, and Worlds is the time where everything comes to a head as the sagas of each region culminate in one climactic showdown between the most elite LoL teams on the planet. The 2019 League of Legends World Championship kicks off with the Play-In at the LEC Studios in Berlin, Germany on Wednesday, October 2nd.
