Today’s cartoon is about the qualified teams and regional qualifier results for the 2019 LoL World Championship.
The teams that will compete at Worlds 2019 are being decided one by one. After our last cartoon, DAMWON Gaming and Invictus Gaming qualified from the LCK and LPL, respectively. In the LCS, Clutch Gaming reached Worlds after a fierce fight, and in the LEC, G2 Esports and Fnatic have their name written down while the other qualifiers are to be decided in their Regionals.
With the best teams of each region qualifying, the hype is higher than ever. Many fans are curious about how much potential LCK’s new faces Griffin and DAMWON have, as well as the veteran dream team SKT. The Worlds tickets that were given to LPL have also been decided, listing an amazing lineup. Starting with the new champion and dark horse, FunPlus Phoenix, MSI 2018 champion RNG, and the defending World Champion IG succeeded to grab the ticket, making other region fans nervous.
In the LCS, besides Team Liquid and Cloud9 who are (or became) regulars, Clutch Gaming squeezed themselves in past TSM. As the ‘super rookies’ such as CG, DWG, GRF, and FPX qualified, many eyes gather and wonder which team would secure the last ticket from the LEC.
With a lineup mixed well with veterans and rookies, the 2019 LoL World Championship has already reserved a spot as one of the most popular Worlds. Not even a month is left to the play-in stage; reading the predictions and analyses that are already appearing puts a smile on my face, making the wait worthwhile.
