Kingzone DragonX took another step for a spot towards the 2019 League of Legends World Championship.
On the 5th (KST) at LoL Park, Kingzone DragonX defeated SANDBOX Gaming 3-1 to take the victory in the 2nd round of the LCK Regional Qualifiers.
Kingzone DragonX was able to showcase their strong sides in the 3 sets that they won. In the 1st set, Kim "Deft" Hyuk-kyu picked Ezreal and reminded everyone that he’s a force to be reckoned with. By putting on a lot of pressure during the laning phase and scaling well towards mid to late game, Deft didn’t shy away to show everyone why he’s been dubbed as the ‘Carry Machine’.
A surprise pick came through in the 3rd set, when Moon "Cuzz" Woo-chan picked Nidalee and played his part really well. Park "TusiN" Jong-ik, a player that puts on a stellar performance when he’s playing a playmaking champion, picked Thresh and had a solid performance in the 3rd set as well. With solid rotations around the map and good teamfighting, it was as if they were trying to tell everyone know that Kingzone DragonX is back.
On the other hand, SANDBOX Gaming once again put on a disappointing performance when it really mattered. The strong rotations, a strong suit that SANDBOX is known for, was almost unable to be found. When SANDBOX took the 2nd set, it was a short blast to the past of their glory days, but it was short-lived. Henceforth, SANDBOX’s 2019 season came to an end.
After taking down Afreeca Freecs and SANDBOX Gaming, they will now face DAMWON Gaming in the last round of the LCK Regional Qualifiers. The team that comes out on top on that day will join SK Telecom T1 and Griffin in the 2019 LoL World Championship.
