Gen.G Esports failed to reach the 2019 LoL World Championship.

Gen.G Esports faced DAMWON Gaming in their last match of the Summer Split. As DAMWON took the victory 2-1, Gen.G failed to reach the postseason and fell short of the Regional Qualifiers.

Gen.G had reached Worlds for three straight years (Samsung Galaxy) from 2016 to 2018. They were runner-up in Worlds 2016 and won the championship in 2017. However, they weren’t able to reach the postseason in both splits for 2019 to earn 0 championship points.

The LCK Regional Qualifiers will be played between DAMWON Gaming, SANDBOX Gaming, SK Telecom T1, Afreeca Freecs, and Kingzone DragonX, excluding the summer split champion or the team with the highest championship points. Griffin earned the most championship points and will be heading to Worlds regardless of the results in the playoffs.
