8th July, LoL park Seoul, SKT T1 faced Griffin, one of the top dogs in LCK, and defeated them by 2:1. It was the first victory SKT won against GRF. Celebrating the victory, kkOma, the head coach of SKT T1, said he satisfied with T1 players’ current performances.
The following is an interview with Jung-gyun “kkOma” Kim of SKT T1.
What is your opinion about today’s victory against GRF?
I think I’ll repeat this phrase until the end of this season: although we’re on a winning streak, we can fall down all the way if we just miss a step. What we have won is what we have won. We still have things to feedback.
SKT’s draft strategy in game 1 and 2 was very similar.
In-game 2, I thought picking a champion who can dominate the laning phase would be better. Gangplank was not good against Kennen. Preparing for the game 3 strategy, we focused on the top lane. I want to thank the players who concentrated thoroughly during the game.
If you pick just a team which you simply want to win against, which team will be?
There isn’t a single game we can play carelessly. All of the remaining games are against top dogs. We can be defeated by any of them. No one expected us to be stuck in a 5-game losing streak in the summer season. This is the time we need to hurry. Remembering that losing streak, we have to focus on our performances.
Any Last comments?
What I’m really satisfied with my players’ performances is that they’re all improving their performances so that each and every lane can carry. I’d like to thank the coaching staff and the players for that. It seems that the other LCK teams are feeling pressured watching us. I’d like to show them that we’re consistently improving.
