Riot Games just announced the details regarding schedules for the 2019 Rift Rivals.
The 'LCK/LPL/LMS/VCS Rift Rivals' will take place in Seoul, Jangchung Arena, for 4 days, from July 4th to July 7th. Unlike before, this year's iteration of 'Rift Rivals: Red' will feature VCS, and they'll team up with LMS to go up against the LCK and LPL.
The group stage of the tournament will take place on the 4th and 5th in a Bo1 format. The matchup of teams during the group stage will be decided on each team's Spring Split results. For example, SKT who had finished LCK Spring in 1st place will play against LPL Spring's 1st place team, IG, and LMS & VCS alliance's 1st seed team, FW.
Six group stage games will be played each day for a total of 12 games in the span of two days. The opening match of the 2019 Rift Rivals will feature SK Telecom T1 and the Flash Wolves. The region that secures the most wins during the group stage will move straight to the Finals which will take place on the 7th. The remaining two regions will play in the semifinals on the 6th.
The semifinals and Finals will be played in the Bo5 format, and similar to last year, the order in which the teams will play will be chosen strategically by each region's teams' coaching staff. Unless a match goes to a game 5, each team per region will only be able to compete once.
