This morning, ReKTGlobal continued their expansion into the music industry by announcing their newest investor, Dutch DJ Nicky Romero. One of the most popular music producers in the world, Romero joins Steve Aoki, Tainy and Imagine Dragons as recent parties who have decided to make the crossover into the world of gaming. ReKTGlobal is the parent company of professional esports organization, Rogue, which has numerous teams in popular titles such as League of Legends, Fortnite, Rocket League and more.
The organization also serves as esports Agency of Record to State Farm, which recently announced its first-ever endorsement of an esports athlete, Benjamin “DrLupo” Lupo, a top Twitch streamer and the captain of Rogue’s Fortnite team.
“As esports is rapidly growing and dominating the culture right now, we are constantly looking for new and innovative ways to intersect music and ultimately reach the fans,” said Amish Shah, co-founder of ReKTGlobal. “With Rogue’s recent global expansion and entry into the new League of Legends Europe Championship (LEC), DJ Nicky Romero is the perfect fit. We are thrilled to welcome him and his visionary mindset to the team and look forward to forging a global connection together.”
Romero, most well-known for his viral music videos "Toulouse" and “I Could Be the One,” has worked with some of the largest names in the industry and amassed a following of millions across his social media platforms.
According to the company via a press release, Romero will co-host live streams and deliver creative fan content alongside Rogue players. He will also assist in growing the organization through strategic integrations and partnerships.
"I'm excited to join my good friend and fellow DJ, Steve Aoki, with my investment into ReKTGlobal and Team Rogue,” commented DJ Nicky Romero. “I love gaming because it provides a great way to unwind after long nights in the studio. It’s also how I stay connected with friends when I’m on the road performing. Rogue is killing it at FIFA right now and I’m counting down the days until I can link up and play with MSDOSSARY and the rest of the team.”
