KZ Naehyun: "I came to the LCK to change the evaluations toward me."

On the 7th (KST), Kingzone DragonX shutout Gen.G Esports 2-0. The power of the top, jungle, and mid lanes were extremely strong. In both matches, Kim “Rascal” Kwang-hee received the MVP and Yoo “Naehyun” Nae-hyun delivered a performance that settled all the worries toward him. After the match, Naehyun had an interview with the media.

How do you feel winning the first match of the season?

I was quite worried, but fortunately, the game went well. I did feel good when I heard that I was starting, I felt some pressure so I worked harder to prepare.

What do you think your strengths are?

I do prefer supporting champions, but I play a lot of aggressive champions in solo queue. I have no problem with playing any kind of champion.

How did it feel when the opponent banned Lulu?

It meant that they are aware of my mastery on Lulu so it felt good.

Your Jayce was impressive.

Jayce is one of my favorite champions. When we picked him, I gained the confidence that we could win. Mid Jayce isn’t a conventional pick, but our coaching staff made an environment to utilize Jayce well through the picks and bans.

You must be determined more than ever because you got there with difficulty.

In the first round of spring, I was really nervous so I picked the wrong rune. But today, I wasn’t nervous at all. I think I was able to deliver stable performance because I felt comfortable. Our head coach and mental coach helped me out a lot.

Before, many people didn’t rate you that highly. How did that feel?

It would be a lie if I said I didn’t mind. I came to the LCK to change the evaluations toward me. I concentrated to become better.

It seems that you’re always smiling.

If I frown or look angry, other people wouldn’t feel very good. So I try to keep a bright face. I’m naturally a smiley face as well. (Laughs)

Lastly, a word to the fans?

As PawN was excluded from the roster, many people were worried. I’ll be putting in more effort than ever to fill his shoes so please support me. Thank you.
