On the 7th of June (KST), in the 2019 LCK Summer Split Day 3 match between SK Telecom T1 and Jin Air Green Wings, SK Telecom T1 defeated Jin Air Green Wings 2-1. Jin Air Green Wings put up a good fight, but SK Telecom T1 was the team to smile at the end. After the match, top laner Kim “Khan” Dong-ha was voted as the MVP and was interviewed.
You won your first match of the season. How do you feel?
It felt like we were still a bit jetlagged recently while we were preparing. We struggled a bit during practice and it seemed to be showing in the match today. Since we have another match in two days, we’ll be working harder to deliver better performance.
SKT’s performance in Game 3 was different from the first two games. What feedback was there after the first two games?
Rather than criticizing our plays, we said that we should concentrate more.
Jin Air seems to have improved a lot. Especially Malrang, Lindarang, and Grace. How was playing against them?
We thought Jin Air wouldn’t make many mistakes in the laning phase; if they were to make mistakes, it would be regarding their macro. Their laning was really good today.
You ended Game 1 with a backdoor.
It takes 7 seconds for the opponent to recall. We thought that if we were able to stop the opponents’ damage champions, we would be able to end.
Today, Skarner was the key champion. How is it playing with Skarner within the team and playing against him?
Skarner is a champion that can start fights in any situation. In Game 2, we didn’t have anybody that could endure Skarner’s ult; in the same way, they didn’t have one that could take the ult in Game 3.
Aatrox is being picked often but has a bad win rate. What do you think the reason is?
There’s always a reason for whatever happens. Although many people think he’s good, there are ways to counter him. I can’t tell you in detail, but if you look at which champions are picked and banned when Aatrox gets picked, you might be able to find out why.
You started the summer with a win. A word to the fans?
Our start in the spring wasn’t that good either. We’re always trying to become a better team. In my opinion, we're a slow starter. Since we’re all doing our best, please keep supporting us and cheer for us. Thank you.
