Irvine, California – May 30, 2019 – Joycity celebrates Freestyle 2’s 5-year milestone in North America with a major content update.
In 2014, Joycity assumed the full publishing duty of its own hit basketball game, Freestyle 2. Today, the game is celebrating 5 years of bringing the street b-ball style online game to the mass with a major patch containing various new content and revamps to existing features.
First up is Alice/Olivia. This is the first dual-style switching character in the series’ history. Players can level up Alice and Olivia separately and switch them up to 6 times in a 5-minute match when defense and offense change hands. Alice/Olivia features distinct and separate visuals so they can be customized twice more than other characters in the game. She is sure to bring a double dose of strategy to the match and put opponents into frenzy. All of the efforts and resources needed to develop a single new character was doubled for Alice/Olivia. Players will have to double up their efforts for this one!
The second major component to the patch is the massive 5-year anniversary events. Players will be able to acquire tickets in the game to redeem for exclusive items. They will be given out regardless of who wins and loses! Freestyle 2 will also give out more exclusive items for players logging into the game during the anniversary celebration.
There is more! All players online will automatically enter into a virtual raffle and receive in-game items. 5 players will be selected every hour for days and weeks. There will also be items going on sale up to 50% off and other special items will be up for sale too.
Lastly, this major patch will include numerous updates to existing features in the game, freshened up in time for the 5-year celebration. They include a revised character stat window, card & penalty level improvements, a new training guide, brand new art, attendance system, and more. There will be over 10+ revamps coming to the game with this update and will continue throughout June.
Freestyle 2: Street Basketball, the sequel to Freestyle: Street Basketball, is a Free-to-Play fast-paced PC sports MMO game. The game has attracted over 11 million players worldwide and is published on Steam. Players meet on virtual courts to challenge each other in a dynamic pick-up game environment that features cutting-edge hip-hop music, customizable street and fashion items, and gravity defying basketball moves.
