It has been three days since LCS organization Clutch Gaming announced its roster for the 2019 LCS Summer Split. The entire starting roster will be returning for summer, except Cody "Cody Sun" Sun will be starting in place of Chae "Piglet" Gwang-Jin. Clutch Gaming has yet to make any formal statement regarding Piglet's absence.

Hopes were high for Clutch Gaming heading into the 2019 LCS Spring Split. The additions of Echo Fox solo laners Heo "Huni" Seung-hoon and Tanner "Damonte" Damonte via an off-season trade bolstered the top side of the map for the team, giving Jungler Nam "LirA" Tae-yoo more options than the previous iteration of the roster was able to provide.

However, promoting Clutch Gaming Academy Bot Lane duo in Piglet and rookie Support Philippe "Vulcan" LaFlamme left the bottom side of the map as a massive question mark for Clutch Gaming.

Piglet had not shown top form in nearly three years, and Vulcan's transition to the stage would certainly play a part in the team's potential drawbacks. Cody Sun was signed to Clutch Gaming Academy, but in hindsight, he would have been the better starting choice. Piglet and Vulcan were demolished by the LCS competition, looking utterly outclassed under the eye test as well as nearlyl every measurable metric.

Since Piglet's bizarre return to Mid Lane in week 9, CG's former World Champion is MIA. In Clutch Gaming's roster and schedule announcement, there is no information regarding Piglet's current position within the team and its roster. Cody Sun is certainly the better choice for the starting five,  but the lack of visibility on Piglet's side of the roster swap is peculiar at the very least.

Clutch Gaming's season starts less than a week from now in an Opening Day match versus OpTic Gaming. The team's augmented roster puts them in a position to improve on its 9th place, 5-13 spring finish. Whether Piglet will play a part in Clutch Gaming's Summer Split, whether it be Bot Lane or Mid Lane, is currently an unknown.
