K/DA POP/STARS Video on Youtube Surpasses 200 Million

The 2018 World Championship promotional video, K/DA - POP/STARS has surpassed 200 million views on Youtube.


K/DA is an augmented reality K-pop group made to promote the 2018 League of Legends World Championship in South Korea. Soyeon and Miyeon of (G)I-dle, Madison Beer, and Jaira Burns each performing in the roles of Akali, Ahri, Evelynn, and Kai’Sa parts.


The song POP/STARS debuted on the 3rd of November, 2018, and rapidly collected views. On December 4th, the video passed 100 million views. It had once reached 1st on iTunes K-pop chart, 4th in the pop chart, and 1st in the Billboard World Digital Song Sales.


Not only the song; figures, t-shirts, caps, etc. sold out rapidly. On the interest in K/DA and its products, Riot Korea’s Koo Gi-hyang said, “We’ve sold diverse LoL products, but K/DA-related products are the most popular ever.” and added, “With the interest from all the LoL fans and people who’ve watched the video, we will be preparing more new products to release in the summer.”
