With the playoffs just around the corner, today’s cartoon is about the final standings for the 2019 LCS Spring.
The LCK Spring is also near its end with only a few final matches left for the regular split. This season was full of surprises; teams that made it to last year’s Worlds are struggling this Spring. On the other hand, Griffin - a team that faced difficulties near the end of last Summer - is having a blast this year with displaying exceptional performance starting from the beginning of the LCK Spring.
While the Korean teams are preparing for their last remaining matches, the LCS teams have already finished their regular split and are waiting for the playoffs. And of course, the LCS was also packed with surprises, nevertheless, the competition for the top seeds in this Spring was indeed the best spectacle to watch.
Team Liquid managed to finish 1st place, performing solidly starting from the beginning of the split. As a matter of fact, similar to Griffin, they’ve also gone through a losing streak recently. However, Team Liquid won both matches against Cloud9 which made them advance to the top even though the 2 teams had the same record. On the other side, Cloud9 has also performed well this split. Numerous fans are having some positive expectations on whether they can make their revenge for their loss against Team Liquid in last year’s Summer Finals.
The traditional NA powerhouse, TSM has made a huge recovery compared to how they’ve underperformed earlier this Spring. They’ve finished 3rd and gave hope to the fans who were waiting for their comeback for the past few splits. However, TSM has to go through the Quarters against the 4th-6th place teams, FlyQuest, Golden Guardians, and Echo Fox. Then either Team Liquid or Cloud9 awaits in the Semifinals. It is rather too early to say that TSM regained their prime performance since their journey to the finals seems to be a long and strenuous one.
With the top-tier teams displaying concrete performance this Spring, the LCS fans’ expectations for international tournaments later this year has also risen. So, which team will become the first to secure a win this postseason? Long-awaited 2019 LCS Playoffs is just around the corner.
