AF Aiming on Personal Improvements: "Now, I don't hesitate to make a move when my team makes a call."

On the 16th at the Seoul LoL park, the 36th day of the 2019 LCK Spring Split took place. On the first series of the day, Afreeca Freecs defeated Griffin with a score of 2-1; another shocking blow to the 1st placed team in the LCK. Throughout the series, Aiming was a reliable bot laner that was able to consistently DPS for his team on Ezreal and Lucian.

The following is an interview with AF Aiming.

How do you feel about your victory today?

With this victory, we moved one step further away from relegations. I'm very happy with the results.

When you saw Griffin losing to Gen.G Esports not too long ago, what went through your mind?

Griffin is seen as a team that plays at "another level" compared to the other teams in the LCK. As for us, we're a bottom tier team. When we saw GEN defeating Griffin, we gained motivation; high hopes that we, too, can defeat Griffin.

You sat out during a lot of games this season. Now that you're back, you seem to be playing a lot better than before. What kind of personal change did you go through during your break?

I learned that the most important thing during competitive play is "trust". Playing and winning a lot of solo queue matches also gave me motivation. I got into the "habit" of winning.

Back before, I made a lot of poor plays such as joining my team too late during a teamfight. Now, I don't hesitate to make a move when my team makes a call.

Afreeca Freecs is now a team that has defeated both Griffin and SANDBOX Gaming. Your next opponent is SK Telecom T1.

I think we're strong when playing against the top teams. I want to defeat every one of them at least once.

In game 2, you had died to an early dive in the bot lane.

When I saw the enemy bot lane players' movement, I immediately assumed that a dive was coming. Since our Kha'Zix was not in place to help us, we were in a spot where we had to fight them. When the dive happened, our Alistar was underleveled, and so we died helplessly.

Afreeca Freecs seem to really favor the Kha'Zix pick.

Dread has a lot of confidence in his Kha'Zix, and our teammates put faith in it.

Depending on the outcome of your match against Gen.G Esports, you may or may not have to play in the relegations.

Ruler is an exceptionally great player. I will be doing my best to catch up to him. If I'm able to keep up with him, I feel that we can win.

In Ssun's previous interview, he had stated that "Afreeca is going to defeat Griffin no matter what." What he said came out to be true.

I don't know whether he was joking or not, but he often says positive things like that in the team house. His positivity gives everyone on our team a lot of motivation. After today's match, he came to me and said, "I did bad, but you did really well. We won thanks to you." I felt great and thankful when I heard that.

Any last words for the fans?

I want to thank all the fans that cheer for me. I'll do my best to only show the best in me.
