Netflix surprised fans on the 6th by releasing a sneak peek of Arcane: Season 2, the highly acclaimed series that artfully weaves the stories of main characters based on the world of the game League of Legends.
Through its official channel, Netflix unveiled Arcane: Season 2 First Look in a video that lasts less than a minute, excluding the outro. In this brief teaser, we catch a glimpse of Singed, continuing from the previous season's finale, and what appears to be Warwick. Unlike Season 1, they seem to be depicted undergoing their own events, presenting familiar in-game visuals for original fans.
Arcane, produced by Riot Games and Fortiche Productions, premiered on Netflix in 2021 and garnered widespread acclaim from critics and viewers alike. The distinctively stylish direction by Fortiche and the refreshing adaptation of the League of Legends universe received positive evaluations. Additionally, the engaging character development and the performances of the voice actors were also widely appreciated.
Recognized at Anime Awards, Emmy Awards, The Game Awards, and other accolades dedicated to gaming, original media, and animated works, "Arcane" has been acknowledged as one of the most notable animation series. The series achieved a perfect 100% Tomatometer score and a 96% Audience score on the media rating site Rotten Tomatoes, providing further evidence of consistent acclaim from both critics and viewers.
The collaboration between Riot Games and Fortiche Productions has consistently gained recognition since the release of the League of Legends champion Jinx animation, "Get Jinxed," in 2013. Fortiche has worked on several projects with Riot Games, such as the 2014 World Championship theme song "Warriors" with Imagine Dragons, the cinematic video for Ekko's "Chronobreak," the 2018 World Championship theme song "RISE," and the popular virtual group K/DA's "POP/STARS," which gained popularity through its connection with K-pop.
Following the release of Arcane Season 1, Riot Games invested in Fortiche Productions, securing a considerable non-controlling stake and strengthening the collaboration between the two.
Arcane Season 2 is set to be released on Netflix in November, promising to continue the immersive storytelling and captivating visuals that made the first season a standout success.
