The 2023 LCK Awards, an event commemorating the standout players of the LCK in 2023, kicked off with the crowning of Kim "Peyz" Soo-hwan as the 2023 Rookie of the Year. Following this glamorous beginning, a diverse array of awards, generously sponsored by various entities associated with LCK, were presented.
The Secret Lab Assist King award, given to the player with the highest number of assists, was bestowed upon Yoo "Delight" Hwan-joong, who was the support for Gen.G in 2023. In the absence of Delight due to personal reasons, Choi "Doran" Hyeon-joon stepped onto the stage to represent and remarked, "Congratulations, it feels like a collective achievement, and I am also delighted."
Next in line was the Best Monster Slayer award, sponsored by Monster Energy, presented to Han "Peanut" Wang-ho. This accolade acknowledged Peanut as the player who slew the most jungle monsters throughout the year. Expressing his surprise, Peanut shared, "I didn't expect to receive this award, and I didn't prepare a speech. Thanks to my Gen.G teammates, I had a comfortable jungling experience this year."
Kim "Deft" Hyuk-kyu secured the Logitech G Best Power Play award for recording the highest average damage. Deft expressed his disbelief, saying, "I never imagined that I dealt that much damage. I didn't know. I will work hard to deal even more damage next year."
The JW Pharmaceutical Vision award, recognizing the player with the highest average vision score, went to Kim "Kael" Jin-hong, who played as a support for Liiv SANDBOX. Unfortunately, Kael was unable to attend the LCK Awards due to personal issues.
The OP.GG Search King award, presented to the player with the most searches on OP.GG, was awarded to Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok. Faker shared his gratitude, stating, "It's delightful to receive another award. The fact that there was considerable interest from many people makes it even more meaningful. Thank you."
The LG Ultragear Objective Steal award, honoring the player with the most objective steals, was claimed by Moon "Cuzz" Woo-chan. Cuzz, expressing his gratitude, said, "I didn't know I had stolen objectives this much. Thanks to the support of my good teammates and fans, I was able to achieve this. I will try to steal more in Kwangdong Freecs in 2024."
The LCK Global Marketing Award, recognizing the player contributing to LCK's global marketing efforts, was awarded to Park "Morgan" Ru-han. Morgan, who engaged with over 20,000 Vietnamese fans at an Expo in Ho Chi Minh City, stated, "I am grateful for receiving this prestigious award. I will continue to showcase good performances next year."
Kim "Aiming" Ha-ram claimed the HP Omen Best KDA Award. Aiming, expressing his joy, said, "I didn't expect to speak at such a large gathering. I am happy to receive this award. Thanks to my teammates Kiin, Cuzz, Bdd, Lehends. I am grateful. Thank you, fans."
The BBQ First Blood Award, offering a month's supply of chicken daily, was awarded to T1's Moon "Oner" Hyeon-joon. Oner, beginning his acceptance speech with "I never imagined," expressed his happiness, attributing the success to his adept ganking and the support of his teammates.
The Woori WON Banking Gold King award, recognizing the player with the highest average gold, was awarded to Lee "Gumayusi" Min-hyeong for the second consecutive year. Gumayusi, expressing his joy, said, "I am happy to receive this award again this year. Thanks to my teammates for funneling gold to me. I will aim for the same award next year and strive for a three-peat."
