Dplus KIA’s franchise star, Heo “ShowMaker” Su has extended his contract by three years. On Nov. 24, Dplus KIA announced that they re-signed with ShowMaker for another three years. Since his debut in 2017, ShowMaker has been in the same team, starting from the Challengers League and getting promoted to the LCK.
With the organization, ShowMaker claimed three LCK championships and one World Championship. About re-signing with the team, ShowMaker said, “I made my decision because of all the good memories I have with the team and fans, and I thought we would be able to get good results next year with the players. If the team didn’t want to extend the contract, I probably would have chosen to rest.”
The players accompanying ShowMaker in Dplus KIA’s journey in 2024 were also revealed. Kim “Kellin” Hyeong-gyu is the only other player who will continue to play on Dplus KIA, and Choi “Lucid” Yong-hyeok, who played well in the Challengers League will be called up in the jungle. They signed Hwang "Kingen" Seong-hoon for the top lane, and Kim “Aiming” Ha-ram was signed in the bot lane.
Kingen was the Grand Finals MVP at Worlds 2022, and played for Hanwha Life Esports in 2023. Aiming played for KT Rolster this year and reached the quarterfinals at Worlds 2024. He was in the center of the team's unbelievable 17-game winning streak. The two will now be responsible for Dplus KIA's top and bot lanes.
Lee "Zefa" Jae-min, who took a break over 2023, will be the mastermind behind Dplus KIA's roster. Accompanying Zefa will be coach Park "Bubbling" Jun-hyeong.
