On Nov. 21, T1 announced that Kim “kkOma” Jeong-gyun is returning to T1 as the head coach. Through a short video, T1 revealed that kkOma is back. It has been four years since kkOma left T1. While he was away from T1, kkOma won the 2021 LCK summer championship with DWG KIA. He also led the Korean League of Legends national team for the Hangzhou Asian Games.

At the end of 2012, kkOma started his coaching career with SK Telecom T1 and quickly became the most decorated coach in LoL Esports history. Along with Faker, kkOma claimed three World Championships, two MSI championships, and ten LCK championships.

Faker and kkOma have been reunited after T1’s fourth World Championship. As for T1, coaches Kim “Roach” Kang-hee and Kim “Sky” Ha-neul are leaving. Moon “Oner” Hyeon-joon and Faker’s contracts haven’t yet expired, but Choi “Zeus” Woo-je, Lee “Gumayusi” Min-hyeong, and Ryu “Keria” Min-seok’s contracts have expired.

It is not known whether the players would re-sign with T1 or not, but with kkOma coming back, T1 seems to have a good start in the stove league.
