Teams from around the world have been competing for the biggest tournament of the year, the 2023 LoL World Championship. This year’s Worlds will feature a new format, having two double-elimination brackets in the Play-in Stage, leading to the Swiss Stage. The qualifiers from the Swiss Stage will finally compete in a single-elimination Knockout Stage to crown this year’s champions. See here to read about the new format featured at Worlds 2023.
There will be 22 teams from around the world at Worlds 2023. The top two regions, LCK and LPL, will send four teams each, all straight to the Swiss Stage. The other major regions, LCS and LEC, will send three teams each to the Swiss Stage.
The PCS and VCS will send two teams each to Worlds, starting from the Play-in Stage, while LJL, CBLOL, and LLA will feature one team each. The 4th team from LCS and LEC will clash in the Worlds Qualifying Series to determine the last team to qualify for the Play-in Stage. The top two teams from the Play-in Stage will qualify for the Swiss Stage.
