MAD Lions' mid laner Yasin “Nisqy” Dinçer has been officially voted the MVP of the 2022 LEC Summer Split.
All throughout the regular season, Nisqy was viewed by fans and analysts as one of the front-runners for the award: voted to the LEC's 1st All-Pro Team, earning seven Player of the Game recognitions (the most of any player), and helping MAD transition from a team unable to make playoffs in the spring to one of the best teams in the summer.
Nisqy has competed with teams in major regions for more than five years. Initially competing with various European amateur teams starting in 2015, the mid laner became a staple in the LCS and LEC starting in 2017 — competing with organizations such as Team EnVyUs, Splyce, and Cloud9. His most recent team before MAD was Fnatic. With the latter, he managed to qualify for Worlds, but failed to win an LCS championship. After being benched, Nisqy took a half-year hiatus from competitive play before being signed with the Spanish organization.
The mid laner was no doubt one of the most important figures in MAD's turnaround. He maintained a strong 4.3 KDA ratio throughout the Summer Split, and was the main win condition in several of MAD's victories. Other figures in the organization, such as coach James "Mac" MacCormack and Support player Norman "Kaiser" Kaiser, have both praised the contributions Nisqy has brought to the team's shotcalling and playstyle. His teammate Javier "Elyoya" Prades — the second place finisher for this split's MVP title — was noted for his especially strong turnaround from his performance in the spring. Mac has spoken of the strong synergy that Nisqy has developed with Elyoya and the team, stating, "Nisqy is really great in teamfights, and in individual moments and putting everyone on the same page."
