The six teams for the 2022 LCK Summer Split playoffs have been fixed. Starting from mid-June, the ten teams of the LCK have been fighting for a playoffs ticket and, ultimately, the 2022 LoL World Championship. The six teams are: Gen.G, T1, Liiv SANDBOX, DWG KIA, KT Rolster, and DRX. Gen.G and T1 have secured a bye to the second round of the playoffs, while the four other contenders will start from the first round.
Although the placements haven't been fixed, if Gen.G collect one win out of their two remaining matches, they will conclude the season in 1st place regardless of the results of T1. As for the remaining teams, Liiv SANDBOX is ahead of the pack with an 11-5 record, while the other three teams have a 9-7 record. The last week of the season will decide the full standings.
Four LCK teams will be headed to Worlds 2022. The summer season champion will automatically qualify as the top seed, and the championship points leader will be the second seed. The remaining two teams will be decided through a separate regional qualifiers stepladder tournament based on the championship points.
There are three top contesters for the Player of the Season — T1 top laner Choi “Zeus” Woo-je, Gen.G bot laner Park “Ruler” Jae-hyuk, and Liiv SANDBOX bot laner Lee “Prince” Chae-hwan. The three players are tied with 1,100 POG points. KT Rolster bot laner Kim “Aiming” Ha-ram follows close with 900 points.
