Over the past eight years, Secretlab has been an industry leader in gaming chairs. As an adherent to gaming chairs for six years, I’ll admit I was skeptical of the need for constant revamps of seemingly static products. I’d ask myself, “If it isn’t broken, why fix it?” After almost a decade of improving on a piece of furniture, there’s not much else you can do, right? After spending a few weeks enjoying the throne that is the TITAN Evo 2022, I can happily say that I’m wrong. There’s still plenty of room to grow in this exciting space, and Secretlab’s new product is quite the benchmark.
The first aspect that must be discussed (besides assembly, which I’m happy to report is fairly straightforward) with this product is the look — it is very well put-together. The TITAN Evo has a variety of designs — almost all of the standard ones coming across very classy. A common problem you see with a lot of gaming chairs is that they’re too dedicated to their design for gamers: a product that would only look natural at esports events.
What’s nice about this series is its classy look. If you’re like me, many times you use the computer both for work (conference calls, video recordings, etc.) in addition to gaming. These chairs work well for both of these purposes, and overall look great in anyone’s setup. Of course, what’s notable is that how quality the material looks and feels. The personalized support definitely brings out the idea that this is a premium product, and both the upholstery — leather and fabric — are very high quality. The metal components in the product are also well put-together — making for an overall very well-made chair.
Obviously, the most important factor in any gaming chair is how comfortable it is. In that regard, the TITAN Evo is definitely a winner. You’ll be hard-pressed to find many chairs that match the overall comfort of this one. The material feels nice, and the foam is both firm for support but comfortable on your muscles.
Just looking at the product and its many adjustable components — it speaks for itself in terms of how ergonomic it is. Everything from the lumbar system, to the innovative arm rests, to the foam pillow for your head make for a very comfortable product. Even after long sessions of use I have not experienced any sort of pain or fatigue, as it genuinely feels natural to rest in.
My favorite feature has to be the multi-tilt mechanism. Like a lot of its competitors, the TITAN Evo allows you to adjust the chair in a range of positions. Already in that respect it’s ahead of the curve — it moves seamlessly (and has adjustable tensions) that encourage maintaining blood flow. Unlike many, however, this chair offers you the ability to lock into positions you desire. That’s probably my one gripe, it’s so comfortable I always want to lock in fully leaned back to relax!
Overall, I am very happy with Secretlab’s TITAN Evo 2022. It’s one of the best gaming chair I have experienced, and I am eager to see how they will continue to innovate the market in the future.
