Gen.G Lehends: "I sometimes die because I go too aggro, but the durability patch helps with that."

Gen.G defeated Hanwha Life Esports 2-0 on day 3 of the 2022 LCK Summer split. Even though the average game timer got increased due to the durability patch, Gen.G was the first team to win tonight under 20 minutes and kept up the fast tempo.

The following is an interview with Gen.G’s Support player, Son “Lehends” Si-woo.

Thoughts on winning tonight and starting a win streak?

I’m thrilled to have played clean tonight, and also by the fact that we won 2-0 as well.

Where do you think you were ahead of HLE tonight?

I think the second drake was the turning point. We played Jinx-Tahm Kench in game 1 and Senna-Tahm Kench in game 2; both of those bot lanes are weak, but we even got drake, so there was a lot of room to breathe.

Why did you decide to rush tier two boots in game 1 on Kench, and Bami’s Cinder in game 2?

I didn’t take CS in game 1, so I wanted to move around faster to influence other lanes. As for game 2, I was taking all the CS in lane [due to Senna - Ed.] so I wanted my items faster.

Why did you decide to play the Senna-Kench lane against the Ezreal-Karma lane in game 2?

Senna-Kench is very weak early, but the matchup becomes even as they buy items. You just need to play well. I wouldn’t say that we dominated in lane; the fact that we had jungle priority was bigger.

What are your thoughts on the durability patch?

I personally like it. I sometimes die because I go too aggro, but the durability patch helps with that.

They say that there’s always room for improvement, even in victory. What does the team need to fix?

We need to make more calls. It’s not bad right now, but if we talk about what’s going to happen two, three, five minutes in the future, I think we can play out the games better.

You face DWG KIA in your next match.

They’re a team that we have to beat. The team got stronger with Nuguri rejoining, but I’m not too bothered by it. I hope our fans will continue to support us.
