UPDATE May. 18: Golden Guardians only had one change on their LCS roster with Stixxay taking the place of Lost as starting AD carry, but GG Academy's mid-season has been much more active.

After parting ways with Violet, GGA have signed Jackson "Array" Moldenhauer as their new AD carry and Jonathan "Westrice" Nguyen as their new head coach. Matthew "Akaadian" Higginbotham, a veteran LCS jungler who was the GG Academy head coach for the first half of 2022, will be following suit with Stixxay and returning to competitive play. Analyst Jonathan "Jido" Do will be the team's assistant coach.

Michael "Concept" Su, who most recently played for Immortals Academy in the first half of the 2022 season, will be GG Academy's new top laner. Adam "LIDER" Ilyasov, who took the first half of 2022 off after competing with Team Vitality in the 2021 LEC Summer Split, has crossed the Atlantic Ocean to be the team's new mid laner. Support Jonathan "Chime" Pomponio is the only player on the roster to retain the same position as last split.

As of now, top laner Zheng "Tony Top" Fen and mid laner Tommy "ry0ma" Le, who both played for GG Academy in spring 2022, will remain on the team as substitutes.

Golden Guardians have been busy in the mid-season break after their finish outside of the top 4 in the 2022 LCS Spring Playoffs. GG's most recent move is announcing that positional coach Trevor "Stixxay" Hayes, who, as an AD carry, specialized in his own position on the coaching staff, would be returning to the LCS roster as a starter ahead of the Summer Split.

Stixxay began his LCS career as the starting AD carry for Counter Logic Gaming at the start of the 2016 season. With a squad of veterans rallied around the rookie marksman, CLG won their second consecutive LCS title in the 2016 NA LCS Spring Playoffs and became the first North American team to make it to the finals of the Mid-Season Invitational. After the 2020 season, CLG made a change, signing veteran AD carry Jason "WildTurtle" Tran in Stixxay's place.

As a result, Stixxay joined Golden Guardians, where he started in the LCS as their AD carry for the whole season before moving to a positional coaching role for 2022. Stixxay was supposed to work with new GG ADC Lawrence "Lost" Hui, who had been acquired from TSM, as well as GG Academy's Vincent "Violet" Wong, but because of visa issues barring Violet from competing for GGA for the majority of the spring of 2022, Stixxay ended up starting for a good portion of spring.

Golden Guardians have recently announced the departure of Lost and GG Academy jungler Ethan "Iconic" Wilkinson. Lost is reportedly set to join Immortals alongside new support Lee "IgNar" Dong-geun. The organization has also parted ways with Violet before the Summer Split.

If one assumes that Stixxay's return to the starting LCS roster completes Golden Guardians' off-season plans, the roster that features top laner Eric "Licorice" Ritchie, jungler Milo "Pridestalker" Wehnes, mid laner Nick "Ablazeolive" Abbott, and support Kim "Olleh" Joo-sung is now complete. Whether GG will hire another AD carry positional coach in Stixxay's place is currently unknown.
