The 2022 Mid-Season Invitational will wrap up its group stage in the next three days, deciding the six teams to take part in the Rumble Stage. The schedule has now transitioned to round-up format, where all remaining matches from a single group will be played out in a single day. 

Some changes are expected in Group B, where Royal Never Give Up will have to replay their first three matches due to ping discrepancy. Group B is also the closest of the three, with PSG Talon, Istanbul Wildcats, and RED Canids all posting a 1-2 scoreline after the first round-robin, indicating the possibility of tiebreakers in that group.

MSI 2022: Rumble Stage teams

From Group A: T1 and Saigon Buffalo

T1 have continued their streak of not losing a match in 2022 after their perfect run through the LCK Spring Split and Spring Playoffs by winning all of their first four matches at the Mid-Season Invitational.

T1 have been fairly open in interviews both on broadcast and with the media that they were essentially just trying things out in Group A in terms of champion picks and showed little to no struggle in running over Saigon Buffalo, DetonatioN FocusMe, and Team Aze.

Saigon Buffalo have exceeded expectations at MSI 2022 after VCS 2022 Spring champion GAM Esports opted to forego the first Riot Games international tournament of the season in favor of the SEA Games, which resulted in SGB attending as an outwardly underwhelming representative. SGB have won every single game they've played in Group A thus far save a single loss to T1, and even then, they were far and away the greatest challenge the LCK powerhouse has faced in the group.

From Group B: Royal Never Give Up and PSG Talon

Royal Never Give Up expectedly took 1st place in Group B, but their road there could not have been predicted.

RNG is competing in MSI 2022 remotely due to the COVID-19 lockdown in Shanghai, and to even the playing field, all teams have been competing on 35 ping.

However, it was revealed by Riot Games halfway through the Group Stage that a technical error had resulted in RNG's opponents in their first three matches being forced to play on higher ping. As a result, RNG was forced to reply their first three matches, but that didn't stop them from going 6-0.

PCS representative PSG Talon took 2nd place while CBLoL representative RED Canids and TCL representative İstanbul Wildcats settled for 3rd and 4th place with respective records of 2-4 and 1-5, which resulted in both teams being eliminated from MSI 2022. 

From Group C: G2 Esports and Evil Geniuses

Group C only featured three teams, and by extension, a quadruple round-robin between LEC representative G2 Esports, LCS representative Evil Geniuses, and LCO representative ORDER. The group played out in a very linear fashion: G2 went 8-0, which, if one includes their run to the championship in the lower bracket of the 2022 LEC Spring Playoffs, puts them on a 20-game winstreak. 

Evil Geniuses placed themselves squarely in 2nd place with four losses to G2 and four wins against ORDER, while ORDER went 0-8 and was eliminated from MSI 2022 Rumble Stage contention after their fifth loss of the group.
