The AD carry position has been the most powerful position on Summoner's Rift throughout the 2022 League of Legends' esports season. Its rise in power has allowed many young AD carrys the opportunity to outshine, and at times, overthrow the veteran sharpshooters more commonly associated with dominance in the role.

Here are Inven Global's top 5 bot laners competing at the 2022 Mid-Season Invitational:

5. Flakked — G2 Esports

Victor "Flakked" Lirola Tortosa was part of an impressive rookie bot lane for G2 Esports in the 2022 LEC Spring Split. While support Raphaël "Targamas" Crabbé dazzled on a champion ocean, Flakked was rock solid in providing consistent damage in whatever facet G2 needed.

Proving yourself as a rookie is difficult when you are not the stylistic focus of the team. But Flakked's consistency and calmness under pressure, especially in the Spring Playoffs, were an integral factor in G2 Esports' 12-0 lower bracket run for the organization's ninth domestic title.

When it comes to the focus of jungler Marcin "Jankos" Jankowski, top laner Sergen "Broken Blade" Çelik and mid laner Rasmus "caPs" Winther are the stars of the show. But Flakked's ability to maintain his reliability on the international stage will be crucial to G2's stability at MSI 2022.

4. Unified — PSG Talon

PSG Talon lost their mid-jungle battery of Huang “Maple” Yi-Tang and Kim "River" Dong-woo in the offseason, but that didn't stop them from winning the PCS once again. This time around, however, PSG Talon was challenged harder than ever before and had to win their third straight PCS title through the lower bracket.

PSG has a well-balanced roster, but it's undeniable that AD carry Wong "Unified" Chun Kit is the star of the show. In the regular season, PSG Talon would occasionally win a game off of Unified's laning phase alone. While mid laner Park "Bay" Jun-byeong has had an impressive season, look for jungler Lee "Juhan" Ju-han to focus the bot lane as getting Unified ahead as the key win condition for PSG Talon at MSI 2022.

3. Danny — Evil Geniuses

Danny put together a solid sophomore campaign in the 2022 LCS Spring Split and added a few more pentakills to his career count. Unfortunately, his peaks did not quite reach the heights of his rookie season last summer. Until the postseason, that is.

EG absolutely ran through the lower bracket, sweeping Cloud9, Team Liquid, and 100 Thieves for their first LCS title as an organization. At the center of the success was Danny, who was at the peak of his powers throughout the Spring Playoffs and was named the finals MVP. If Danny and rookie mid laner Joseph "jojopyun" Joon Pyun can maintain their form internationally, a finals appearance by EG at MSI 2022 is not out of the realm of possibility.

2. GALA — Royal Never Give Up

It would be difficult for almost any player to shine on a roster that features Li "Xiaohu" Yuan-Hao's glorious return to the mid lane. Fortunately for RNG, AD carry Chen "GALA" Wei is an exception. Royal Never Give Up started slow out of the gate in the 2022 LPL Spring Split, but slowly rose to the top of the standings heading into the postseason and their 5th LPL title.

In the postseason, GALA was second only Park "Viper" Do-hyeon in KDA and dealt more damage than any other AD carry in the Playoffs.

Royal Never Give up come into MSI 2022 as the defending champions, and while the team boasts a triple-carry threat in GALA, Xiaohu, and top laner Chen "Bin" Ze-Bin, the relatively down season thus far for jungler Yan "Wei" Yang-Wei means that every other player on RNG must play to the best of their abilities on a consistent basis for the squad to defend their throne.

1. Gumayusi — T1

Last year, defending World Champion EDward Gaming AD carry Viper was hailed as the best in the world at his position. In 2022, Lee "Gumayusi" Min-hyeong has the chance to prove that he is worthy of that title at the Mid-Season Invitational.

Surrounding veteran mid laner Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok with a team of young talent paid off for T1. The organization won their 10th LCK title and will look to be the first South Korean team to win MSI since they last did as SK Telecom T1 in 2017. Alongside support Ryu "Keria" Min-seok, Gumayusi has formed the best bot lane in the world in what has been an undefeated season for T1 so far in 2022. To say T1 is the favorite to win MSI 2022 would be an understatement.
