G2 Esports have won the finals of the 2022 LEC Spring Playoffs in a clean sweep over Rogue. This marks the ninth LEC title won by G2, who will go to the 2022 Mid-Season Invitational to represent Europe internationally.

G2 Esports' run through the post-season was nothing short of incredible. After losing their first match 3-1 to Fnatic in the upper bracket, G2 went on a 12 game win streak in the lower bracket, sweeping Team Vitality, Misfits, and Fnatic before sweeping Rogue out of the finals to win the title.

This will be the first time G2 will represent Europe internationally since the 2020 World Championship. MAD Lions represented EU at MSI 2021 and G2 missed Worlds last fall for the first time in the organization's history. MAD Lions once again lifted the trophy last summer, and G2 Esports missed out on the 3rd seed by a game in a heartbreaking 3-2 loss to Fnatic.

The G2 win over Rogue was punctuated by the phenomenal performances of their core veteran members, jungler Marcin "Jankos" Jankowski and mid laner Rasmus "caPs" Winther. For the first time since his debut in 2017, caPs found himself out of the top 3 mid laner conversation in the 2022 LEC Spring Split, but looked every bit of the player that earned the 'baby Faker' moniker early on in his career and continued to play better and better in each successive sweep by G2 in the lower bracket.

Throughout the 2022 LEC Spring Playoffs, G2 Esports' game score is an absurd 13-3, their only losses coming in their first series against Fnatic. As a result of G2's 2022 LEC Spring Championship, top laner Sergen "Broken Blade" Çelik is the only player in LoL Esports history to win a LCS and a LEC
