T1 have secured a spot in the 2022 LCK Spring Split finals. In the semifinal against Kwangdong Freecs, T1 showed up dominantly and swept their opponents from the stage with a 3-0 victory. The win also extended T1's record-breaking win streak in the LCK, as they've now won 19 consecutive series.
The semifinal between T1 and Kwangdong Freecs kicked off in messy fashion. Both teams struggled to find their footing in the best-of-five, with T1 making some uncharacteristic mistakes as their players got caught out multiple times. However, they bounced back strongly. Kwangdong Freecs got overconfident, which T1 punished immediately and off the back of that single punish, T1 closed out the game.
The second game of the series was a different story completely. T1 smelled the blood in the water and annihilated Kwangdong Freecs with a textbook game of League of Legends—especially T1 support Ryu "Keria" Min-seok was on a rampage. While Kwangdong Freecs did fight back a bit in the third game and held on for as long as they could, T1 had no interest in extending the series any further. With a strong showing from Moon "Oner" Hyeon-joon on Lee Sin, they closed out the series.
Who T1 will face in the LCK finals depends on the second semifinal, which will be played on Sunday, March 27. Gen.G, who finished the regular Spring Split in second place, take on reigning LCK champions DWG KIA. The LCK Spring Split finals will be played on Saturday, April 2, to determine who will be crowned the champion and get to represent the LCK at the Mid-Season Invitational.
