Arcane, the animated Netflix series chronicling the stories of the League of Legends universe, has collected nine trophies at the 49th annual Annie Awards. The series stood out head and shoulders from other nominees at the award ceremony that focuses on acknowledging outstanding animated television from the past year. Arcane, a collaboration between Riot Games and production studio Fortiche, won all the categories it was nominated for.

In the Production categories, Arcane was nominated once. The sixth episode of the series, "When These Walls Come Tumbling Down", which sees Vi and Jinx reunite after several years, won the award for Best General Audience Animated Television/Broadcast Production.

Arcane continued to dominate in the Individual categories of the Annie Awards. The final episode of the series, "The Monster You Created", won three awards: Outstanding Achievement for Character Animation, Outstanding Achievement for Directing, and Outstanding Achievement for Writing. "Oil and Water", the penultimate episode of the first season, won the award for Outstanding Achievement for Animated Effects.

Ella Purnell, who voices Jinx in the series, also received a trophy. Her voice acting work in the sixth episode won her the award for Outstanding Achievement for Voice Acting. The other three awards Arcane pocketed were Outstanding Achievement for Storyboarding (When These Walls Come Tumbling Down), Outstanding Achievement for Production Design (Happy Progress Day!), and Outstanding Achievement for Character Design (Some Mysteries Better Left Unsolved).

Riot Games has confirmed that Arcane will be getting a second season. Unfortunately for its many fans, however, a specific date isn't known yet. All that was shared by CEO Nicolo Laurent is that season 2 would not air in 2022.
