On day 24 of the 2022 LCK Spring split, Kwangdong Freecs defeated Fredit BRION after a very long three game series. Yoo “FATE” Su-hyeok was chosen as the Player of the Game [PoG] for his performances in game 1 and 3, on Zoe and Twisted Fate respectively.

After the match, FATE joined Lee Jeong-hyun for a post-match interview on the LCK broadcast.

The team’s now on a three-match win streak after a long loss streak. How do you feel?

We lost quite a bit early in the split, so I’m really happy to find good momentum in recent days.

After the match, Kiin was caught with a huge grin on his face on camera. How’s the team atmosphere right now?

I think it’s because we’re always having fun with each other, but I do believe that the recent victories contributed to the bright team atmosphere.

KDF lost to Fredit BRION in round 1. How did you prepare for the rematch tonight?

Our strategy remained somewhat the same, but we felt that Fredit BRION had a certain playstyle, so we just fixed our draft a bit.

Tonight was KDF’s first time going to game 3. Did the team feel the fatigue from playing such a long series?

We didn’t realize this when we were heading into game 3, but we found ourselves making mistakes here and there. It’s been a while since we went the distance in a series.

It feels like your performance is steadily rising. Do you feel the improvement as well?

I think I got a little bit better, but there really isn’t much difference. As a team however, we’re listening to each other’s needs more, so our level of synergy is definitely going up.

Tell me about the Zoe vs Ahri matchup.

I actually didn’t practice Zoe that much recently, but watching ShowMaker play her in a match made me realize her unique strengths. I’ve played her a lot in the past, so I didn’t have much trouble tonight.

Twisted Fate recently got nerfed, so what was the merit behind first picking him in game 3?

I don’t think the TF nerfs aren’t too big. No matter how much I think about it, TF is very good in competitive.

A lot must’ve been riding on you as the match went to late game.

No matter what the enemy chose to do in that game, we had priority. My role was to adapt to the enemy’s strategy to create openings for the team, and I’m happy we’ve executed our game plan well.

Next match is against KT Rolster.

All our opponents have gotten better than us, so our goal is to beat everyone. Because we lost so much in round 1, there are a lot of teams to get revenge on in round 2. We’ll take one step at a time to win.
