Evil Geniuses have eliminated Golden Guardians from the 2022 LCS Lock In in a 2-0 quarterfinals win. Golden Guardians, who started the entirety of the GG Academy roster in the Lock In due to visa issues delaying the arrival of certain members of the starting roster, is the fifth team to be eliminated from the tournament, leaving only five teams in the competition.

EG came into the series heavily favored and have extended their win streak to six to start the season undefeated. The series victory was punctuated by game-ending Pentakill for the Senna of AD carry Kyle "Danny" Sakamaki in the first game of the series, the first of the young marksman's career.

Golden Guardians is one of three teams eliminated in the quarterfinals of the 2022 LCS Lock In.

Yesterday, Team Liquid, who is rotating multiple members of TL Academy into their starting roster in lieu of green card delays for support Jo "CoreJJ" Yong-in, make quick work of FlyQuest in a 2-0 win, and earlier that day, Dignitas eliminated 100 Thieves in a 2-0 upset of the defending LCS champion.

TSM, who, like Golden Guardians, is starting the entirety of the TSM Academy roster due to visa issues delaying the revival of multiple members of the organization's starting LCS roster, had to defeat GG Academy in their final game of Group A, but failed to win and was eliminated despite tying GGA with a 1-3 record in the group due to the head-to-head record.

Immortals Progressive lost their first three games of Group B and subsequently found themselves as the first team eliminated from the LCS Lock In.

The last quarterfinals match of the 2022 LCS Lock In is between Cloud9 and Counter Logic Gaming. CLG have their full starting roster, while Cloud9 are starting three of their C9 Academy players due to multiple members of the team's roster and staff unable to secure visas and arrive until February 2022. Should CLG win against C9, only Team Liquid will be the one of the four teams in the semifinals that cannot currently play with their fully intended roster.
