On day 2 of the 2022 LCK Spring split, Hanwha Life Esports defeated Nongshim RedForce 2-1 and reverse swept the series. Kim “OnFleek” Jang-gyeom’s Xin Zhao was the key playmaker of the series that brought HLE their reverse sweep, while NS failed to continue riding the dominating momentum they had in game 1 and fell powerlessly in game 2 & 3.

NS’ mid-jungle duo were the key playmakers for the team in game 1, as the Azir-Lee Sin combo proved to be too much to handle for Kim “Karis” Hong-ho. Every time there was a kill in the mid lane, it allowed NS to take the Rift Herald, naturally gaining more advantages. 

HLE’s game plan was to take back the lead through skirmishes and teamfights. However, Kim “Canna” Chang-dong’s Graves proved to be too much to handle, as he received Player of the Game [PoG] for his plays in game 1.

The tides have definitely turned in favor of HLE in game 2, and OnFleek’s Xin Zhao stood in the middle. ‘SamD-OnFleek’ managed to take down each member of NS defending their turrets, and started to snowball the game. From that point on, OnFleek managed to secure various objectives, eventually tying the series 1-1.

HLE capitalized on their momentum from game 2 in the following game as well, as OnFleek’s hyper aggressive plays in the early game shook NS’s game plan. Eventually, Lee “SamD” Jae-hoon’s Jhin and OnFleek’s Xin Zhao successfully snowballed the game into their first victory of the 2022 season.

Meanwhile in the 2nd match of the evening, DWG KIA faced off against the revamped KT Rolster. It was a series that showcased just how dominant Heo “ShowMaker” Su is as a player, as he managed to get an incredible CS lead over his lane opponent, Lee “Aria” Ga-eul. Game 1 was fairly close until the mid-game, as DWG KIA focused to push their advantages through their bot lane, while KT’s game plan was the same with their new top laner, Kim “Rascal” Gwang-hee. 

The game heavily swung in favor of DWG KIA in the Elder drake contest. ShowMaker managed to hit his ult on key enemy carries, which led to DWG KIA taking not only Elder dragon, but Baron Nashor as well. It did not take long for DWG KIA to close out the game and lead the series 1-0.

DWG KIA made even better use of their bot lane priority for their snowball. The game plan was simple for DK’s bot lane: push the lane in, and dive with Kim “Canyon” Geon-bu’s Jarvan IV. With ShowMaker even trading kills during a gank, DK gained a sizable lead. Although KT managed to tie the kill score, DK was heavily in the lead when it came to the global gold. The teamfight at the dragon pit in the mid-late game was what sealed the deal for DK, as KT’s valiant efforts of creating variance through back line teleports did not prove to be enough.
