On Dec 13, DWG KIA announced that head coach Kim “kkOma” Jeong-gyun will be promoted to the role of Athletic Director, while analyst Yang “Daeny” Dae-in will be the head coach for DWG KIA’s LCK team.

As Athletic Director, kkOma will be in charge of overseeing three of DWG KIA’s rosters; main LCK roster, DK Challengers, and DK Academy. He also further revealed that he’s “Thrilled to be working with an all-star coaching staff. As someone who’s intricately worked with head coach Daeny and coach Lee “Zefa” Jae-min, they deserve all the praise.”

Daeny and Zefa are reunited once again for the 2022 season. Their tenure began together in 2020 with DAMWON Gaming [now known as DWG KIA], where they led the team to win the World Championships that year. Both Daeny and Zefa joined T1 for the 2021 season, but were terminated during the Summer split. Daeny then went on to rejoin DWG KIA shortly after, where his influence was able to lead the team to a top 2 finish at Worlds 2021.

The three coaches also sat down for a short Q&A, which you can also check out in full via the link down below.
