Reshiram, Zekrom, and Kyruem are also known as the Tao Trio throughout the Pokemon series. In Pokemon GO, they appeared for the first time in May 2020. Like other legendary trios, they look rather similar and have similar attributes.

Reshiram and Zekrom represent yin and yang, respectively, and Kyurem represents wuji. The CP of Reshiram and Zekrom are topped at 4,038 at Lv.40 and 4,565 at Lv.50. Kyruem’s max CP is 3,575 at Lv.40 and 4,041 at Lv.50. All three are Dragon-type Pokemon and they each have a distinguished type as well.

Best Raid Counters for Reshiram

As a Dragon/Fire-type Pokemon, Reshiram is weak against Dragon, Ground, and Rock-type Pokemon. Make sure you don’t pull out any Fire or Grass-type Pokemon since they are extremely ineffective. The best Pokemon to face Reshiram are Dialga, Rayquaza, Rampardos, and Garchomp. Besides them, just about any Dragon-type with Dragon-type moves will do.

Best Raid Counters for Zekrom

Zekrom is a Dragon/Electric-type Pokemon, and is weak against Dragon, Ground, Ice, and Fairy-type Pokemon, while being extremely strong against Electric-type Pokemon. The best counters to Zekrom are simple — just throw all the strongest Dragon-type Pokemon you have against it.

Best Raid Counters for Kyurem

Kyruem is a Dragon/Ice-type Pokemon. Naturally, it’s weak against Fighting, Rock, Steel, Dragon, and Fairy-type Pokemon, and is strong against Electric, Grass, and Water-types. Against Kyruem, the counters aren’t as simple. Dragon-type Pokemon are still strong against it, but as Kyurem can use Ice-type skills, there can be better choices like Metagross, Lucario, and Terrakion.

Best moves and Skillsets for Reshiram

The moves Reshiram can learn are paired well with its type. As there aren’t that many viable Fire-type Pokemon in Pokemon GO, Reshiram’s best use is to make it a Fire-type attacker. Reshiram can learn Fire Fang and Dragon Breath for its fast move, and Fire Fang is the best choice.

There are four charged moves Reshiram can learn: Stone Edge (Rock), Overheat (Fire), Crunch (Dark), and Draco Meteor (Dragon). The go-to choice is Overheat, to benefit from STAB. If you’re planning to use Reshiram in PVPs as well as PVEs, you should learn Crunch as its secondary move. Crunch requires the least amount of energy so it’ll come in handy in certain situations.

Best moves and Skillsets for Zekrom

Zekrom is a great Dragon-type and the best Electric-type attacker in Pokemon GO. The fast moves Zekrom can learn are both great — Dragon Breath (Dragon), and Charge Beam (Electric). As there are much fewer decent Electric-type attackers, using Charge Beam might be a better choice to widen your spectrum.

For its charged move, Zekrom can learn Flash Cannon (Steel), Wild Charge (Electric), Outrage (Dragon), and Crunch. For PVEs, having the same type fast move and charged move is the best, so the best choice would be Wild Charge. As a Dragon-type attacker, go with Outrage. For its secondary move, like Reshiram, Crunch is recommended, but learning Outrage or Wild Charge (if you picked Outrage as your first move) is also quite strong.

Best moves and Skillsets for Kyurem

Unlike its two friends, Kyurem’s moves are disappointing. Although Kyurem is an Ice-type Pokemon, it doesn’t have an Ice-type fast move, which lowers its value by a big margin. As a Dragon-type attacker, well, there are so many other better Pokemon out there.

Kyurem can learn Dragon Breath and Steel Wing (Steel) for its fast move. Since Steel Wing can’t benefit from anything, Dragon Breath is the only viable choice. Kyurem still can learn some Ice-type charged moves, but they also trail behind one of the best Dragon-type moves in the game: Draco Meteor. For its secondary move, Blizzard is the best choice as the only other move it has is Dragon Claw.

There are no real breaks in Pokemon GO, so raids are continuing as you read this right now! Make sure you catch’em all!
