[UPDATE Dec 1] Fredit BRION announced the acquisition of Hanwha Life Esports' former top laner, Morgan. Morgan comes off a strong finish in 2021, as he managed to aid HLE in their Worlds run to the quarterfinals, where they unfortunately fell 3-0 to T1. He's expected to be competing for the starting spot in Fredit BRION's LCK roster with the other top laner for the team, Choi "Sword" Seong-won.
On November 17, Fredit BRION announced that they signed top laner Choi "Sword" Seong-won. In their tweet, they said "Sword joined #BRO. Please cheer for him who is challenging again"
Sword started playing in Challengers Korea as the top laner in Griffin since 2017 and qualified to LCK through the promotion tournament. With Griffin, Sword made it to the LCK finals three times and qualified to World Championship in 2019, finishing in the quarterfinals.
However, Griffin had parted ways with head coach Kim "cvMax" Dae-ho just before Worlds 2019. Afterwards, Sword revealed the conflicts he had with cvMax due to cvMax's assaultive behavior, leading to the Griffin incident that started Griffin's downfall. Sword sued cvMax for assault, and after six public trials, the court sentenced cvMax to a 1,000,000 KRW fine.
After the incident, Griffin was demoted to Challengers league in 2020, and the tram disbanded at the end of the year. Sword did not sign with any team this year, and did not compete in 2021. Sword got a chance to compete in LCK again next year with Fredit BRION.
