LCK teams are struggling because of tampering issues, sources told Inven. Multiple team officials that wished to remain anonymous said that a representative from another LCK team have contacted players without permission from those players' teams.
At least four LCK teams have had their players tampered with, sources have told Inven. Some teams were reportedly nearing the end of contract negotiations with the players until the latter suddenly demanded a raise or refused to sign. According to a conversation log obtained by Inven, one players' parents were also contacted, and if that player's original team fails to renew the contract by Nov. 16, 9 a.m. KST, the player will become a free agent.
NS RedForce publically allege tampering
One team that has allegedly become a victim of tampering is Nongshim RedForce. On Nov. 16, NS tweeted that they have evidence of tampering toward their players and have released a statement. The organization claims that there have been attempts of "both direct and indirect conversations with other team staff", "sending offers before the expiration of the players’ current contracts", and "giving information on the potential roster".
NS added:
“We are very upset and are going through the necessary procedures to deal with this situation. The most active and efficient methods are being prepared to cope with this situation and protect the fairness of LCK.”
