On Nov. 15, kt Rolster announced through their Facebook page that they were releasing mid laner Son “Ucal” Woo-hyeon. Ucal’s original contract was through 2022. As of this announcement, Ucal has become a free agent. Kt Rolster also decided to not extend the contracts of bot laner Lee “HyBriD” Woo-jin and support Jang “Zzus” Joon-soo.

Ucal started his professional League of Legends career in kt Rolster. In his first year in 2018, he won the LCK summer championship and reached Worlds. After a quarterfinal finish at Worlds, Ucal moved to Afreeca Freecs and then Griffin, where he was relegated. Ucal returned to kt Rolster after the relegation, but he was given lesser and lesser time to play. In the 2021 summer season, Ucal only appeared in one official game.

HyBriD spent a long time in Challengers Korea, as he went through Ever8 Winners and Brion Blade. When APK Prince was promoted to the LCK, they signed HyBriD and he first set foot on the LCK stage. During his days in APK Prince (SeolHaeOne Prince), HyBriD was known for his ability to deal massive damage in the late game. When the team failed to become one of the franchise teams, HyBriD moved on to kt Rolster. After being demoted to the academy team, he wasn’t able to return to the main roster.

Zzus had a long career but didn’t play much in the big leagues. Starting from Incredible Miracle, Zzus played in Longzhu Gaming, TCL’s YouthCrew Esports, bbq Olivers, Runaway, and Spear Gaming before he joined kt Rolster. He finally became a starting member in the LCK in kt Rolster, but from the 2021 summer season, Zzus had fewer games on the starting roster.

Kt Rolster had disappointing results in 2021, ending up 7th in both spring and summer seasons. It is said that they are looking to sign some big names for the next year.
