UPDATED Dec. 3: G2 Esports have confirmed that their roster will be rounded out with top laner Sergen "Broken Blade" Çelik, AD carry Victor "Flakked" Lirola and support Raphaël "Targamas" Crabbé. Broken Blade played for FC Schalke 04 Esports in the 2021 LEC season, whereas Flakked and Targamas both excelled in European Regional Leagues and Mad Lions Madrid and Karmine Corp, respectively. The trio will be joining mid laner Caps and jungler Jankos for LEC 2022.

UPDATE Dec. 2: One day after confirming the signings of Romain Bigeard as general manager and  Raphael "Raf" Klausmann as team manager, G2 Esports have announced the Dylan Falco as their new head coach and Rodrigo Oliveira. The duo has worked together for the last two seasons on FC Schalke 04 Esports, where Falco began coaching in November 2018.

G2 Esports also responded to their announcement tweet, stating that now that the first two parts of roster announcements are done, part three will be announced tomorrow. The picture accompanying the response tweet shows mid laner Caps and jungler Jankos standing on opposite sides of a chess board in hooded black robes.

UPDATED Nov. 26:  Team BDS has officially acquired GrabbZ and Duffman from G2 Esports. The head coach and head analyst are the most recent of those placed on buyout by G2 earlier in the off-season to find a home following Rekkles signing with Karmine Corp for the 2022 LFL season.

G2 Esports has confirmed that as of November 12, 2021 the organization has parted ways with two key members of its coaching staff. G2 Esports will be parting ways with head coach Fabian "GrabbZ" Lohmann and head analyst Christopher "Duffman" Duff ahead of the 2022 LEC season.

The changes are the first official moves G2 Esports has made this off-season after missing the World Championship for the first time since the organization joined the LEC ahead of the 2016 EU LCS season. G2 Esports had previously confirmed that GrabbZ's contract was available for buyout alongside the contracts of strategic coach Nelson Sng, top laner Martin "Wunder" Hansen, AD carry Martin "Rekkles" Larsson, and support Mihael "Mikyx" Mehle.

All players and coaches that G2 Esports announced were available for transfer were also formally benched, though Duffman was not part of that list.

Reports point towards GrabbZ going to Team BDS, who purchased FC Schalke 04 Esports' franchise slot following the conclusion of the 2021 LEC season, but whether Duffman will be heading there with GrabbZ or to an entirely different destination is currently unknown.

G2 Esports reportedly extended mid laner Rasmus "Caps" Winther's contract following the 2021 LEC season, and it looks as though jungler Marcin "Jankos" Jankowski may also be staying with the organization. However, no member of G2 Esports has been deemed untouchable, and Duffman's sudden departure is a testament to that fact.

As the head coach of G2 Esports from 2018-2021, GrabbZ was at the helm of some of the most iconic moments in Western League of Legends esports history. Not only did GrabbZ lead the 2019 iteration of G2 Esports — the best Western team in LoL esports history — but in doing so, captured four consecutive domestic titles throughout the 2019 and 2020 LEC seasons.
