UPDATE Nov. 22: Evil Geniuses has confirmed the acquisition of Rogue jungler Inspired for LCS 2022. Inspired will be taking over the starting position previously platooned by Dennis "Svenskeren" Johnsen and Juan "Contractz" Garcia, the latter of whom has been signed by Counter Logic Gaming.
Original story:
According to a report by Dot Esports, Evil Geniuses are close to buying out Kacper “Inspired” Słoma from Rogue. The move comes shortly after Rogue’s failure to win an LEC title, as well as their elimination from the Worlds 2021 group stage.
No information has been given on who Rogue will sign to fill the jungler position. The team also reportedly allowed AD carry player Steven “Hans sama” Liv to leave for Team Liquid, making for a tumultuous off-season for the team, losing two of their most established players.
With Inspired, EG moves past veteran jungler Dennis "Svenskeren" Johnsen. For his two years on the team, Svenskeren has played through multiple roster changes — most recently swapping jungle duties with Juan "Contractz" Garcia — but the team is yet to come close to an LCS title, a top 6 placement being their best outing this year.
Inspired has been competing in Europe since early 2017, joining the main Rogue squad in May 2019. Over the past two years, he has established himself as one of the most talented Western junglers, famous for being able to carry from his position in the jungle.
League of Legends’ free agency window opens on Nov. 15 at 8 p.m. ET.
