That's right folks, we have an esports rain delay on our hands. The VCT North American Last Chance qualifier has been delayed until Noon PT on Thursday, after a spat of severe weather knocked out SupaMen's from Rise's power, forcing a technical pause in the middle of the first map in their match against Rise on Wednesday evening.
The matches that were scheduled to take place following C9 vs. RS will be delayed until Thursday afternoon as well, according to a Tweet from the NA VCT.
The NA LCQ started back up on Wednesday, following a hiatus from the in-person even due to multiple players testing positive for COVID-19 in the midst of that event. The positive tests initially prompted Riot to abandon the LAN setting for the tournament, and they eventually cancelled the entire in-person event after competitive integrity because infeasible.
This event seems cursed, but eventually we will name the final NA team who will attend Champions. It's going to happen, fate be damned.
Update: This article originally stated C9 Blue lost power, but it was actually Rise player Supamen, this has been corrected
