The first day of the Play-in knockout stage of the 2021 League of Legends World Championship has concluded, and two more teams are going home. Galatasaray Esports and RED Canids, the respective Turkish and Brazilian representatives at Worlds 2021, have been eliminated after respective losses to Beyond Gaming and PEACE.

As the #2 seed from the Pacific Championship Series, Beyond Gaming was expected to have an advantage against Galatasaray Esports in a best-of-five series despite its rough start to the Play-in. BYG AD carry Chiu "Doggo" Tzu-Chuan predicted a clean sweep against GS in a best-of-five series.

Instead, Galatasaray Esports kept its trend of beating BYG from the Play-In group stage, putting the PCS squad on match point. For BYG to win the series, it was would have to win three straight games against a team that at the time boasted a 3-0 record in the head-to-head between the two teams.  Led by another great performance courtesy of Doggo, Beyond Gaming completed the reverse sweep and eliminated Galatasaray Esports.

The series between PEACE and RED Canids was expected to be a closer matchup than BYG vs GS, and while both series' went five games, the nature of the battle between Oceania and Brazil was far differently paced. Each game was extremely one-sided in favor of either PCE or RED, with PCE going up 2-0 but being forced by RED to go the distance. PCE was able to be on the right side of the stompy nature of the series in game 5, and RED Canids was eliminated from Worlds.

Galatasaray Esports and RED Canids are the third and fourth team to be eliminated from Worlds 2021 following the elimination of Latin America representative Infinity Esports and League of Legends Continental League champion Unicorns of Love in the group stage of the Play-in. PEACE will move on to face Cloud9 in a best-of-five to see who moves on to the main stage at Worlds 2021, while Beyond Gaming will look to do the same against Hanwha Life Esports.
