Warzone Season 6 has arrived, and the assault rifle meta is looking very different going into the new season than when Warzone Season 5 began due to a number of nerfs to the Krig-6 were pushed throughout the season. In the new Season 6 meta, weapons like the AK-47 and XM4 are flying high, while the and C58 and the EM2 have slid down a couple pegs. To help you pick the most powerful rifle to use, we made a tier list ranking every assault rifles in Warzone Season 6!
Tier S
AK-47 (CW)
The AK-47 had the biggest come-up of the season, shooting straight to the very top of the AR meta after the Krig-6’s latest nerf. While the Krig-6 remains a viable option, the AK-47 beats it in most categories now, dominating at long range and close range, assuming you can master its somewhat bouncy recoil. The AK-47 CW has the fastest time to kill among its peers, and it is looking fierce heading into Warzone Season 6
XM4
The XM4 has been good for a while, but going into Warzone Season 6 it has finally found its place in the elite category. This weapon is easier to use than the AK-47, with relatively easy to control recoil and decent damage. It won’t kill quite as fast as the AK-47, but players who struggle to control the recoil on the AK will likely enjoy using the XM4 this season.
Krig 6
It’s not the god gun that it was in the past, but the Krig 6 remains one of the best entry-level rifles in the game. This gun still has some of the lowest recoil in the game, making it like a laser beam at long range, though with its damage nerfs it will take longer to kill than it used to. While many are preferring guns like the XM4 and the AK to this gun at we kick off the new season, if you love the Krig 6 its still a very viable weapon near the top of the AR meta! So keep doing you.
M4A1
The M4A1 is the most consistently good weapon in Warzone history. Since even before the first season, this gun has been more than viable, and is by far the best Modern Warfare weapon in the game. The M4A1 is pretty much on par with the XM4 in many respects, serving as a versatile weapon that is ready for a variety of circumstances. If you enjoy the M4A1, rejoice, because it is very much a contender in Warzone Season 6.
Grau 5.56
The Grau 5.56 is one of the best long-range fully automatic assault rifles in Warzone Season 6. The Grau features very low first shot recoil, an impressively fast reload that keeps you always in the action. On top of that, it is capable of dealing solid damage at any range, making it very versatile. There aren’t a lot of bells and whistles on this weapon, it’s just a reliable rifle that does its job well.
Tier A
Grav AR
Okay, I am making a bold prediction here, since we aren't quite sure how this gun will shake out in the meta. I think it's Tier A. It has solid all-around stats, and you can build it to be good at different ranges depending on your playstyle. The Grav AR is a blank canvas, and you can do a lot with it, so I anticipate it to be a decently used weapon in Warzone Season 6.
C58
The C58 has been downgraded a tier in Warzone season 6, but it’s still a very strong weapon at long range. After numerous balance changes, this gun has been pushed out of the very highest pick rates, but it still gets respectable playtime. It's not exactly a beginner weapon anymore, but if you have the skills to control its long-range recoil and land headshots, this gun is pretty competitive in Season 6.
FARA 83
The FARA 83 is in the same boat as the C58. It's a great long-range gun that is okay in close range but will lose the fight to most of the Tier S guns in an equally close range fight. The FARA 83 has always been a good gun since it was added to Warzone, and it will continue to hold its own in Warzone Season 6 when used in the right circumstances
EM2
This gun dropped last season, and the initial predictions set this gun near the top of the meta. Now that things have shaken down, we are taking it down one peg to Tier A. It is definitely a strong weapon once you unlock its attachments, serving as a higher recoil version of the C58, but it isn’t very strong in shorter ranges, making it overall a worse option than the versatile guns that make up the S-Tier.
Kilo 141
The Kilo 141 is a strong but somewhat unexciting rifle to use in Warzone. This weapon is best used at longer ranges, due to its high damage at range potential and its reliable accuracy. The Kilo 141 is a sleeping giant that definitely has a lot of potential in Warzone Season 5. If you do run this weapon, consider putting a magnifying scope on it to maximize its usefulness against snipers and burst rifles at range.
M13
The M13 remains a very solid AR in Warzone Season 6. The only thing that keeps it out of S-tier really, is that its strengths are too redundant with the M4A1 and the Krig-6, both weapons that generally can outperform an M13. That said, the M13 is a versatile weapon that excels in mid-range confrontations, and is a solid choice for players who enjoy medium-range combat or just anyone who wants to switch up their gun pick.
Tier B
Ram-7
The RAM-7 is a decent assault rifle in Warzone Season 6, but not elite. The biggest challenge with this weapon is that it has a bizarre recoil pattern that kicks upward for the first 8 bullets, then kicks up and to the left for the rest of its magazine. Once you learn the timing on this, this weapon is basically a laser that is effective at a variety of different ranges. You can use attachments to reduce the impact of the recoil, to make it even more effective.
FFAR 1
Once the crown jewel of Warzone, the FFAR 1 remains a great gun in Warzone Season 6, though its long-range limitation makes it an unideal rifle for many situations. This remains a gun that is best used as a replacement for an SMG, and with the dominance of the Bullfrog right now, it might be better to run that over the FFAR 1. That said, this is a lot of players favorite gun, and that for those players, you can absolutely rock this thing still.
QBZ-83
The QBZ-83 used to be a relatively low recoil alternative to the Krig-6 and the M4A1, but with changes made during the Warzone Season 5 reloaded patch, this guns stonks declined. This gun is pretty average nowadays, with average recoil, average damage, and overall average potential. If you like it, you can totally use it, but don’t expect it to give you the edge in Warzone Season 6.
CR-56 AMAX (GALIL)
Otherwise known as the Galil, the CR-56 AMAX is an excellent heavy-duty rifle that features a large amount of recoil. If you can learn to control that recoil and hit your shots with this weapon, it can deal a large amount of damage very quickly. This isn’t the best AR in the game, but it is definitely viable and can be a fun change of pace for anyone looking for something new to toy with in Warzone Season 6
AS VAL
The AS VAL has a small but dedicated fanbase behind it. This short-range assault rifle has a high fire rate and a built-in suppressor. It is most effective in close ranges and can be pretty fun to use honestly. Unfortunately, most other ARs or top-tier SMG's will outperform the AS VAL at it's only effective range, while it remains effective at medium and long ranges as well. So you should probably try out one of those options instead of the AS VAL.
Tier C
AK-47 (MW)
The AK-47 from Modern Warfare isn’t totally useless, but its down here in Tier C because there is no reason to select this gun over its Cold War counterpart. The AK-47 CW is the best gun in the game right now, and the MW version is basically just a worse version of that gun. Just use the CW one honestly.
AN-94
On paper, the AN-94 is a solid rifle with a fast time-to-kill. However, it can’t keep up with guns like the AK-47 CW or the Krig-6 at range, and it is basically useless in close-quarters combat. While the AN-94 shreds in the main game due to its high initial damage, it is much less effective in Warzone where armored players have over 200 health. So while the AN-94 is usable, it shouldn't be your first choice.
FAL
The FAL is a great long-range weapon, especially for players who like high damage model weapons. The FAL can drop armored opponents in only a handful of bullets. So if you can master this gun’s recoil pattern, you can deal some serious damage with it. That said, it is sorely outclassed by weapons like the XM4, the AK-47, and the M4A1. It's usable, but below average.
Groza
The Groza has been a solid AR for a couple of seasons now, but it has fallen out of favor of late. Like the FFAR, it is decent at shorter ranges, but overall this gun just isn't delivering the results in Warzone Season 6.
FN Scar
The FN Scar 17 has very little going for it in Warzone Season 6. Even with the adjustments to its multiliers for neck and torso damage, this gun remains unattractive to most players. It's better than not having a gun, but I wouldn't choose to use it in my loadout drops.
Tier D
Oden
The Oden can be a powerful weapon in the hands of a skilled player, but it is not a very reliable gun. It is capable of very fast kills, but if you miss any shots then you are in deep trouble with this rifle, since its low rate of fire is pretty punishing. Unless you are an experienced player who prefers a low rate of fire gun, I would skip this one.
FR 5.56
The FR 5.56 is a burst rifle with a low time-to-kill and a difficult-to-control recoil pattern. As a result, it’s not a good option in Warzone, especially when the M16 and the AUG are already must superior burst rifles. There is no reason to select this gun based on its stats or performance.
