VALORANT dropped patch 3.07 on Tuesday, which among other things introduced a new performance setting called "Raw Input Buffer" which is meant to improve the performance of input device processing.
According to the patch notes, this new feature will serve as an alternative to Raw Input, which has been the input method for VALORANT since launch. They explained that the Raw Input Buffer will adjust APIs to provide a minor improvement for most standard input devices, but the change will specifically improve the performance of mice with 8000hz polling rates which were not supported before the new patch.
The change will mean that mice like Razer's Viper mouse that can reach up to 8000hz polling rate can now be played with VALORANT on its highest settings.
The new patch also removed penalties for leaving Deathmatch, though you still will only earn XP for games where you complete the whole match. They also added "a slew of fixes" for crashing issues some players have been experiencing and fixed for a couple of bugs.
On the Agent end of things, there were only two minor updates.
For Viper, they fixed an issue where some agents who would pass through the top her her Viper wall will now be decayed like they were meant to. They also updated the dissolving effect on Viper's smoke in an attempt to remove any peekers advantance for players who are inside the smoke.
For Jett they made it so that Blade Storm kunai will recharge against training dummy or defuse practice bots, so no changes to her actual in-game kit.
