October has been a BIG month for Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl — and it's looking like it may get crazier. 

Nickelodeon's official Twitter channel just announced the Nicktoon Throwdown Invitational, a competition where big names in the fighting game community can prove themselves at the newest addition to the FGC roster. 

"We have a [SIC] EXCITING lineup of competitors. Seriously, you don't want to miss this," Nickelodeon teased. 

When is the Nicktoon Invitational Showdown?

The Nicktoon Invitational Showdown will start on October 5, the same day that Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl is coming out. Round 1 will continue to October 6. 

The semi-finals are slated to be October 7 and October 8. 

The finals are October 9th, revealing the "best" All-Star Brawl player of the game's first few days of existence. 

Each day, the action will begin at 2 PM PST / 5 PM EST. It can be watched on Nickelodeon's official Twitch channel. 

What is the prize for the Nicktoon Invitational Showdown? 

So... Will Nickelodeon support the FGC unlike Nintendo? So far, yes. 

GameMill will be providing the prizing for the Nicktoon Invitational Showdown. It's not clear quite yet what the prize will be. For all we know it's just a bucket of slime or being strapped down while men in lobster suits dance around you. 

How will Nicktoon Invitational Showdown competitors be any good already? 

Since the competition starts the day of the game's launch, how can the competitors have any idea how to play? 

Nickelodeon is actually providing competitors with beta build access to the game before the launch. This will give them time to practice so it's not just people guessing and button mashing on the stream when the tourney begins. This means the competition will most likely be using the beta build that the participants are used to. 

Each competitor will also receive a copy of the game for free.
