During a stream on Tuesday, Nadeshot answered a question about the removal of Joshua "steel" Nissan from the active roster of 100 Thieves VALORANT team following their semifinal finish at the VCT Berlin Major earlier this month.

"I love Josh, I think Steel is an incredible player, but the team just needed something different right now," he explained on stream. "I don't play with the players everyday, I am not in scrims, I am not in their meetings. . . so if you want to hear more about it, I am sure the players will talk about it to the point they are comfortable but you know this isn't the end of steel, this isn't the end ofh is career. . . Just gotta try something different."

Steel was officially benched on Monday, with 100 Thieves latest addition Aaron "Boi" Thao being promoted from sub to the main roster to take his place. Boi formerly competed with Andbox before joining 100 Thieves in early September.

The roster changeup follows the team being knocked out of the VCT Berlin Major during the semifinals and, as a result, failing to qualify to Champions at the event. 100 Thieves looked strong in the group stage of that tournament, ultimately winning their group and defeating eventual winners of the tournament Gambit. But in the end they stumbled against Envy in a decisive 0-2 loss.

"It's so tough, esports and fandom, in general, is so difficult," Nadeshot continued on Tuesday. "As soon as we lost the event everyone is bitching that things need to be changed, and then as soon as you make a small move, bring a player up, bench a player, to try to switch things up and everyone is like 'I can't believe you did this, we were arguably a top 3 team all year. . .' fans are really hard to please."

100 Thieves will have one final opportunity to qualify to the Champions event at the NA Last Chance Qualifiers. Going into the event 100 Thieves and XSet are two leading contenders to claim the final NA slot, with dark horse contenders FaZe Clan, Luminosity Gaming, and Version1 waiting in the wings.

That event is set to take place offline in Los Angeles from Oct. 12th through Oct. 17th.
