Fnatic has reached an agreement with Zdravets "Hylissang" Galabov to extend the support's contract with the team for two more years to 2023, the organization confirmed Tuesday. Hylissang, a staple of the Fnatic franchise since his introduction to the lineup in 2018, has helped Fnatic win two LEC titles and has made it to the finals of the 2018 World Championship.
The signing comes after a tumultuous year for the superstar support. After losing his bot lane partner Martin "Rekkles" Larsson at the end of last year, the European veteran faced early difficulties in finding his footing as an elite player. He was noted by many for being too aggressive and not as polished during Fnatic’s fifth-place run at LEC Spring 2021.
2021’s Summer Split saw a resurgence for Hylissang. The pairing of him and Elias "Upset" Lipp proved to be one of the most effective bot lane duos in Europe, achieving more 2v2 kills than any other team in the league. Along the way, they had a strong win in playoffs, making the finals of the event. He now will compete with the rest of the Fnatic lineup at the upcoming Worlds 2021 tournament.
Commenting on the signing, Hylissang said: “I’m excited to continue my journey with Fnatic [...] We’ve done amazing things together and I can’t wait to see what we can do in the future with this team. I re-signed with Fnatic because I truly believe we will be the best team in the LEC.”
