According to Riot Games, the VCS region will not be able to participate in the 2021 League of Legends World Championship, and LEC’s third seed, Rogue, will start their journey at Worlds 2021 from the group stage.
Last month, Rogue became the first team to qualify for Worlds 2021. However, they lost to MAD Lions and Fnatic in the playoffs and fell to the third seed from the LEC.
The Play-in stage of Worlds 2021 will be held in the same format as last year. Ten teams will be divided into two groups and play in a single round-robin format. The top teams will move on to the group stage, and the 2nd to 4th teams will play two best-of series to determine the remaining slots.
Meanwhile, Riot Games announced that Worlds 2021 will be held in Reykjavik, Iceland, from October 5 through November 6.
