With the Season of Mischief, Hoopa (Confined) is here in Pokemon GO! Hoopa is a Psychic/Dark-type mythical Pokemon from Gen 4. Its max CP reaches 3,359 at Lv. 40 and 3,797 at Lv. 50. As a Psychic/Dark-type Pokemon, Hoopa is extremely weak against Ghost or Dark-type Pokemon, but it counters Fighting and Normal Pokemon very hard.

How to get Hoopa in Pokemon GO

To get Hoopa, you must finish a series of researches from Dr. Willow. The newest set of researches is Misunderstood Mischief. Although it says there will be 16 series of researches, don’t be too afraid, because Hoopa is given as a reward at the end of the third series.

Make 10 Nice Throws

Use an Incense

Take 3 snapshots of wild Psychic-type Pokemon

Catch 10 different species of Pokemon

Earn 5,000 Stardust

Once you’ve done these tasks, you will be able to encounter Hoopa as a reward.

Best moves and skillsets for Hoopa

As Hoopa is a Psychic/Ghost-type Pokemon, there aren't many choices to choose from. The Fast Moves for Hoopa are Confusion (Psychic) and Astonish (Ghost), and for the Charged Moves, it can learn Psybeam (Psychic), Psychic (Psychic), and Shadow Ball (Ghost).

DPS-wise, the best moveset to choose would be Confusion and Shadow Ball. You could also easily make Hoopa into a single-type attacker. Since there's Mewtwo that's at the top of the list for Psychic-type attackers, it's most recommended to use it as a Ghost-type. However, the Ghost-type Fast Move in Astonish isn’t that good, so its DPS trails behind Gengar and Chandelure.
